Kingsway Lodge is excited to be partnered with Avon Maitland District School Board as a Living Classroom site based on enrollment.
The Avon Maitland District School Board Centre for Education & Learning is pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for the PSW program in Huron and Perth counties with a start date in September 2026. Program will run pending funding and sufficient enrollment. Please share this information with anyone you feel would be interested. Students will be responsible for purchasing scrubs, shoes, vulnerable sector police checks, and getting a TB test and medical form filled out., paying for transportation to and from all placement locations.
Students are eligible to receive the following 6 credits towards their OSSD :
- 3 Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) credits (theory, 330 hours, live virtual or in person)
- 3 OSSD credits (co-op, 330 hours)
- 1 OSSD credit - supervised clinical (110 hours incorporated into 3 theory credit timeline)
- 2 OSSD credits - community placement (220 hours completed after)
Will include a placement in a long-term care facility as well as a community placement in a group home, adult day program, community health agency, respite care facility or an assisted living facility.
Please note the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by September 1st, 2026. If you are not please reach out and we
can discuss individual circumstances. - Must possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident or refugee status.
- If English is not the first language must be at least a CLB of level 6 or higher.
- No criminal record
- Up to date vaccinations

Once applicants fill out the above form, they will be contacted to attend a virtual information session. There will also be an in person written assessment and an online interview that will be required prior to being accepted into the program.
