Long Term Care

At Kingsway Lodge, we have 61 licensed Long Term Care beds as well as one Interim and one Respite bed. Residents living in our Long Term Care community require nursing care and assistance with their activities of daily living. All admissions are completed through Ontario Health atHome. • Medical/nursing care and assistance with all activities of daily living in compliance with the legislative guidelines of the Ministry of Health
• Full-time on-site nurse practitioner working closely with our Medical Director and the physician group at Happy Valley Family Health Team
• Resident-Centered Care model using Gentle Persuasive Approaches
• Consistent staff who are highly skilled, compassionate and trained in caring for residents in Long Term Care
• Palliative Care, lead by our Palliative Care Team
• Physiotherapy and Restorative Care
• BSO (Behavioral Supports Ontario) Team to assist with complex responsive behaviours commonly associated with dementia or other neurological issues
• Recreation programs to provide stimulation for any level of cognitive or physical impairment
• On-site Hair Salon
• Family and Resident Councils for active involvement and input on any and all areas of care or service within the home
• Safe and accessible access to two outdoor garden areas
• An Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) program to prevent communicable illness, to manage illnesses that do occur, and to ensure Public Health guidelines are being followed

• We offer private rooms and semi-private rooms, each with a two-piece bathroom
• We pride ourselves on creating a home-like atmosphere for our residents, where residents may bring cherished items, small furniture pieces, and a recliner
• Communal living spaces, including fireside lounges and large sunrooms overlooking the beautiful town of St. Marys
• Each room is wheelchair accessible with a call bell system at bedside, chairside and in the bathroom
